Your Sailing Instructor John Wetton
Qualifications wise, I have been a Yachtmaster Instructor Sail since 1996 and have been teaching every year since then. I've sailed around much of the UK, parts of the Baltic, the Canaries, out of Gibraltar and across the Atlantic. Boats sailed have ranged from Optimist dinghies, through the usual Jeanneau and Bavaria, etc. and on to 72 feet round the world race yachts and square-riggers.
Changing tack from offshore sailing, I am also and Advanced Powerboat Instructor, SRC Assessor (VHF radio), Sea Survival Instructor and World Sailing Offshore Safety Instructor. Couple this with having been a Dinghy Instructor and Kayak Instructor early in my outdoor career, and more recently recreational diving and you'll see that I can relate to many water based activities.
All of these qualification stress the importance of creating a relaxed, fun training environment with safety always the priority. Together with a healthy respect for the elements after being caught out more than once when the weather changes, plus time on the lifeboat crew and HM Coastguard this all means you are in safe hands if you choose me to help you get more out of your time afloat.
